Disappointed with poor standards of software development, and lack of truly professional and creative, standards compliant websites, I left my day job with the aim of providing strong, creative, and accessible websites which have been designed and developed to high quality standards.
I now receive all my work on a freelance basis.
Champion of the user perspective!
On a lot of occasions, Websites are designed by a committee of internal people, for example Finance departments, IT "experts", the advertising department, the operations team, the business owner etc. They all have their own ideas of how something should be put together. Not surprisingly, the end result is something that only works for them, not the poor old user who is the very person they are trying to impress and sadly always seems to get forgotten.
"So why are you different?"
I work with companies to help pinpoint exactly who their customers are and then look at what the company provides from their point of view.
Then, we work out what they might be looking for and want they want to do and how the organisation can deliver that, before working with all those different internal groups of people to satisfy their requirements whilst keeping the end users needs in focus.
Result = happy users. And when they are happy, they become advocates of your products or services. Everybody wins.
